Objective To compare the efficacy and tolerability of celecoxib and ibuprofen for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis symptoms. Method In this 6-week, multicentre, double-blind, non-inferiority trial, patients were randomized to 200 mg celecoxib once daily, 800 mg ibuprofen three times daily or placebo 100 mg dose: Dilute 1 mL ibuprofen in at least 100 mL diluent. 200 mg dose: Dilute 2 mL ibuprofen in at least 100 mL diluent. 400 mg dose: Dilute 4 mL ibuprofen in at least 100 mL diluent. 800 mg dose: Dilute 8 mL ibuprofen in at least 200 mL diluent. For pediatric weight-based dosing: ensure final concentration is 4 mg/mL or less
